Enigma Bicycle Works has partnered with Skarper to offer a smarter approach to electric assistance. Rather than committing to a dedicated e-bike, every Enigma titanium frame can now be specified Skarper-Ready, allowing electric assistance to be added only if, and when, it is needed.

Enigma frames are built for long-term ownership, not short upgrade cycles. Skarper complements that philosophy by offering click-on, click-off electric assistance that adapts as riding needs change. When the drive unit is removed, the bike rides exactly as a traditional Enigma titanium bike should.

Skarper-Ready: New Builds, Existing Bikes, and Second Bikes

All Enigma frames, new or existing, can be specified or assessed as Skarper-Ready.
This means:

  • You can order a new Enigma built with future electric assistance in mind
  • You can retrofit an existing Enigma you already own
  • You can use a Skarper second bike kit to move the drive unit between compatible bikes for riders with more than one Enigma, the second bike kit allows the same Skarper unit to be shared across bikes, offering flexibility without duplication.

Most e-bikes rely on integrated motors and batteries that eventually date or become unsupported. When that happens, the entire bike is often written off.

Availability & Installation

Skarper-Ready Enigma frames and builds are available directly via Enigma Bicycle Works.

Retrofits and installations can be arranged at our Hailsham workshop or through approved partners.

Ordering note: Skarper is not available for direct online ordering. All enquiries, quotations, and installations are handled personally by our team.

Skarper pricing depends on how the system is configured and whether it’s being added to a new or existing bike.
