The Trans Pyrenees Race is one of the most demanding ultra-distance cycling events in the world, and this year, Enigma Bicycle Works is proud to join as an official sponsor.
Spanning up to 2,000 kilometers across the Pyrenees, the race challenges riders with relentless climbing, remote terrain, and complete self-sufficiency. With no outside support and only what they can carry, riders must rely on their equipment, decision-making, and resilience to make it from coast to coast, and back again.
What is the Trans Pyrenees Race?
Organised by Lost Dot, the team behind the renowned Transcontinental Race, the Trans Pyrenees Race is a self-supported ultra-distance cycling event that pushes riders to their physical and mental limits.
Unlike traditional races, there is no fixed route between control points. Riders must plan their own path, balancing distance, elevation, and terrain. The result is a race shaped as much by strategy and navigation as by strength and endurance.
The Route: From Girona to the High Pyrenees
Starting in Girona, riders are quickly drawn from coastal roads into the rugged landscapes of Catalonia before entering the high Pyrenees. From there, the race unfolds across some of Europe’s most dramatic terrain, crossing into France via historic mountain roads, returning to Spain through the Basque Country and Atlantic coast, and building into the RAID Pyreneen, a succession of iconic climbs.

Riders will face a mix of iconic ascents and lesser-known passes including the Col du Tourmalet, Col d’Aspin, and Col de Peyresourde. With thousands of metres of elevation gain and constantly changing conditions, the Trans Pyrenees Race is for those who thrive on long-distance climbing and exploration.
A Self-Supported Ultra-Distance Challenge
What sets the Trans Pyrenees Race apart is its self-supported format. Riders must carry their own gear and manage resupply, navigate independently between control points, and make real-time decisions on route, terrain, and pacing.
Each edition unfolds differently. Weather, route choices, and individual decisions all shape how the race develops over multiple days in the mountains.

A Partnership Aligned With Endurance Cycling
For us, the partnership reflects a shared focus on endurance and real-world performance. Ultra-distance riding places unique demands on both rider and bike. Comfort, reliability, and efficiency become critical over long days in the saddle. These are the same principles that guide Enigma’s approach to designing titanium bikes, where durability, ride quality, and long-term performance are key.
As we mark our 20th anniversary, this partnership reinforces our commitment to supporting long-distance cycling and the riders who take on these challenges.
Built for Riders Who Go the Distance
With up to 2,000km of riding and significant climbing throughout, the Trans Pyrenees Race is suited to riders who thrive on long distances and demanding terrain. From high mountain passes to coastal roads, it offers a riding experience that tests both physical and mental endurance.
