A Classic Holdsworth Reimagined
At Enigma Paintworks, we occasionally get the privilege of restoring something truly special. This recent project — a vintage Holdsworth steel frame — was one of those rare moments. The owner brought us a well-used but much-loved piece of British cycling heritage, looking to breathe new life into it without compromising its original character.
Respecting the Past, Refinishing for the Future
The restoration began with a complete strip-down and inspection of the frame. Despite its age, the steel was sound — a testament to its craftsmanship. From there, we moved into paint-stripping, preparation, and the delicate process of colour-matching the classic orange and white Holdsworth livery.
This wasn’t about reinvention — it was about respect. Our brief was clear: restore the bike as it was, down to the tiniest period-authentic detail. That included carefully recreating original decals and replicating the sharp panel lines and layout from decades pas

Now complete, this beautifully restored Holdsworth is heading back to New York, ready for a second life on the streets of the Big Apple.
